Description
This photo is from my first year of experimenting with “proper” photography. I was messing around with shutter speed and shooting pictures of all the campers and counselors coming in from sailing. One of the counselors, Graham, was kicking up and splashing through the water as he came in. I ran over to get in position and ended up with this shot. A little abstract but you can see him framed up in the middle.
I originally did not think of this as a print worthy shot. I just thought it was an interesting use of a fast shutter speed. The first place I ever displayed and sold photos was the Warren Wilson Gallery in the Grove Arcade. The lady there was going through my photos and said this was a great shot and wanted it printed and hung up for sale. I obliged and we ended up selling quite a few in the store. Shows what I know!
