Description

Golden Cathedral is located near Escalante, Utah. We spent several days in the area hiking different trails off of the Hole in the Rock Road. This was a particularly fun hike. We hiked for several hours down to a river, hiked up in the river for a bit and then took a right into Neon Canyon. The Golden Cathedral is at the end of that canyon. It is a large pothole that provides a great photo opportunity. The scale is hard to imagine but I would be very small if I was standing in the photo.

Dad and I went on a ten week kayak and photography tour after I graduated from Warren Wilson College in 2007. We planned and prepped for the trip for over a year. We focused on visiting National and State Parks west of Colorado. Photography and outdoor activities were the main drive of the trip. Wonderful experience!
