Description

Butterfly Beach is small beach on the island of Warderick Wells in the Bahamas. It is park of the Exumas Land and Sea Park, a 22 mile protected area in the Bahamas. Warderick Wells has the headquarters for the Land and Sea Park. There are about 22 mooring balls in a beautiful creek that winds into the island. There are several hiking trails all over the island and lots of amazing views.

My second big trip aboard my sailboat Arcturus was the winter of 2011-2012. I traveled from NC to the Bahamas and back for about four months. Dad, Jimmy James, Mike and I brought the boat down from NC to Ft. Lauderdale. Mark joined me from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau, through the Berry Islands. I was by myself through the Exumas for about six weeks before meeting up with Bill Owens in Georgetown. Met some wonderful friends and had an incredible time for my first time out of the country onboard Arcturus.
