Description

This photo was taken at the anchorage near Lizard Cay in the Berry Islands. My friend Mark was on board and I rowed the dinghy out to get in position for this shot. It was perfectly calm and made for a great shot. It looks wide open in the photo but the channel we were anchored in was very small. We actually ran aground while trying to exit. We were able to maneuver off and continue heading south towards Chub Cay.

My second big trip aboard my sailboat Arcturus was the winter of 2011-2012. I traveled from NC to the Bahamas and back for about four months. Dad, Jimmy James, Mike and I brought the boat down from NC to Ft. Lauderdale. Mark joined me from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau, through the Berry Islands. I was by myself through the Exumas for about six weeks before meeting up with Bill Owens in Georgetown. Met some wonderful friends and had an incredible time for my first time out of the country onboard Arcturus.
