Description

Martin’s Bay is located at the end of the Hollyford Track in the Fjordlands in New Zealand. This was one of the last hikes that I did while in New Zealand and I absolutely loved it. It is not as well known as a lot of the other hikes but it is very beautiful. Martin’s Bay opens right onto the ocean and the hut is located right on the bay. The sandflies are horrendous at best but otherwise it is perfect. I took a boat ride back to the trail head at the end of the hike and caught this photo on the way back. Perfect, smooth calm water.

This photo was taken during a wonderful trip to New Zealand in 2012-2013. Dad and I were together on this trip for five weeks and were able to go on all sorts of great hikes together. I was able to stay over in New Zealand for a total of four and a half months hiking all over the island and taking photos.
