Sol Duc Falls is located in Olympic National Park. I always seem to be drawn to the photos that are more difficult to capture. This one qualifies. It took a decently sketchy hop across the stream, up river from the waterfall with our expensive camera gear in hand. Survived the leap and set up on the rocks for this photo. The waterfalls in this area were some of my first successful longer exposure waterfall shots. This one has always been one of my favorites.

Dad and I went on a ten week kayak and photography tour after I graduated from Warren Wilson College in 2007. We planned and prepped for the trip for over a year. We focused on visiting National and State Parks west of Colorado. Photography and outdoor activities were the main drive of the trip. Wonderful experience!
