St. Mary Lake is located in Glacier National Park. Dad and I woke up early to get to St. Mary Lake before heading across the Going to the Sun Road. We got in position alongside a couple of other photographers. We ended up getting very lucky with the conditions. One of the other photographers said he had been there four mornings and this was by far the best photography conditions. We’ll take it!

Dad and I went on a ten week kayak and photography tour after I graduated from Warren Wilson College in 2007. We planned and prepped for the trip for over a year. We focused on visiting National and State Parks west of Colorado. Photography and outdoor activities were the main drive of the trip. Wonderful experience!
